TMSA Names Mr. Fatih Kandil As Triad Secondary's New Principal
TMSA Board of Directors has named Mr. Fatih Kandil as the next principal of Triad Math and Science Academy Secondary School during the November meeting. Mr. Kandil was a former principal of Triad and served between 2013-2016. He will start his new job after the winter break.
"I am very excited for Mr. Kandil to lead Triad," said Superintendent Ben Karaduman. "Mr. Kandil has proven himself a true educational leader through his commitment to Triad, to our mission, and the growth of our students and faculty. We are excited to welcome him back home."
Mr. Kandil is "thrilled to be coming back home." During his previous three-year service at Triad, the school's state test scores increased year after year. He started Triad's dual enrollment program, and Triad became the only high school in Guilford County having agreements with three different universities: NC A&T University, Greensboro College, and Guilford Tech. During his tenure, one of Mr. Kandil's high school students was granted a full scholarship to Stanford University. Moreover, Triad was elected to sponsor the regional science and engineering fair of Intel ISEF – the world's largest science fair organization. Mr. Kandil also initiated the application process to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at Triad before relocating to Virginia.
Armed with firsthand experience from his previous years at Triad, Mr. Kandil is confident that Triad will be the trailblazer for STEM education in Greensboro. "We will challenge students with high academic standards and expectations for achievement through innovative instruction. We enhance the delivery of a full array of social, emotional, and developmental support systems at Triad," he said. "There is no reason why we cannot move Triad on to the next level - from good to outstanding," he added.
Holding a master's in Educational Leadership and a bachelor's in Biology, Mr. Kandil has three decades of experience in education in every capacity. He is married with five children.
